Sorted & Saved helps homeowners decide whether solar makes sense where they live. Because those decisions involve thousands of dollars, we hold every page to the standards below.

Primary sources only

Numbers come from the organizations that produce them: the U.S. Energy Information Administration for electricity prices and use, the national laboratory formerly known as NREL for solar output (PVWatts), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for installed prices, utility tariffs and rate riders for export rules and charges, state statutes and agencies for incentives and consumer law, and the IRS for federal tax rules. We do not use installer marketing, lead-generation sites or other publishers as sources for numbers.

Every number is sourced and dated

Each figure on a state, city, incentive or net metering page is stored in our database with its source link, a short quote from that source and the date we last checked it. The page shows a numbered source next to each figure, a "Sources" list at the bottom and a badge with the oldest verification date on the page. Estimates, such as typical system prices and payback, are labelled as estimates, and the methodology explains how we calculate them.

Updates and corrections

We re-check every record at least every ninety days and whenever a utility, regulator or legislature announces a change. Pages that depend on a changed record are flagged for review. Each page keeps a public change log. If you spot an error, email hello@conyro.io or use our contact page; we correct factual errors promptly and note the correction in the change log.

Independence

We do not sell leads, accept payment from installers, manufacturers, lenders or utilities, or rank companies. Product comparisons list published specifications only, without ratings. Advertising is placed automatically by ad networks and never influences what we write; see how we make money.

How we use AI tools

We use AI tools to help gather and organize source documents and to draft text. Every number published on the site comes from a source we link, and drafts are checked against those sources before publication. AI-assisted drafts are never published automatically.

Who we are

Our pages are written by the editorial desk and fact-checked by the data desk. We are not licensed financial, tax or legal advisers; our pages are general information. Check incentives with the program and tax questions with a tax professional before you rely on them.
