What it means for sizing and batteries
When exports earn close to the retail price, sizing the system to cover your yearly use is usually the best value, and a battery is mainly for backup rather than savings.
The calculator uses the statewide rule until we add utility rates. See what solar costs in Wyoming.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does Wyoming have net metering?
Wyoming law (W.S. 37-16-101 to -104) still requires utilities to offer net metering for customer systems up to 25 kW, with monthly excess carried forward and unused credit at the start of each year sold to the utility at its filed avoided cost. The 2025 bill HB0183 (capacity, aggregation and customer-generator fee changes) failed on Senate third reading on March 4, 2025, so it did not change the law.
